Webber confirms his promise

Mark Webber showed that he should be considered as a challenger for any of the good midfield F1 seats for next year.

MARK WEBBER showed that he should be considered as a challenger for any of the good midfield F1 seats for next year when he tested for Jaguar Racing on Friday and set a time which was only a fraction slower than a lap set by Pedro de la Rosa in the same test. This was at his first attempt in the car and thus it is reasonable to suggest that with a bit more testing he could be quicker than the Spaniard.

It is not known whether the two men were running with similar fuel loads and tires but the Jaguar team will know the answers to these questions and so will be in a position to judge Webber's performance.
