BAR in court

This morning at nine o'clock (European Summer Time) British American Racing went to court in Nevers to try to overturn a court order granted by the local judges which means that the team cannot run its F1 cars at Magny-Cours. The court order was secured by PPGI, a Monaco based company, which is claiming that it had a verbal contract with the team over a commission on a sponsorship deal which dates back to 1998.

The case was due to be heard in the Monaco courts but because of a lengthy summer recess it will not happen before October 15 at the earliest and so PPGI decided to go for a seizure order in France despite the fact that a law suit is in process in Monaco.
