John Fitch

The son of a wealthy building contractor, Fitch competed in the 1953 German Grand Prix in an HWM and the 1955 Italian Grand Prix in a Maserati. He was also involved in Briggs Cunningham's ambitious Le Mans projects in the early 1950s and was later a member of the Mercedes-Benz sports car team, finishing fourth overall on the 1955 Mille Miglia in a 300SL and then sharing the winning 300SLR with Stirling Moss in that year's Tourist Trophy at Dundrod.
