Francois Mazet

A quite promising French Formula 3 Tecno driver from the late 1970s who also rented a March 701 for the 1971 French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard where he finished 13th. He also drove Formula 2 Brabhams and Chevrons with mixed success in the early 1970s. Socially well connected, Mazet became right-hand man to the Monaco-based Essex Petroleum boss David Thieme during his spell as the Lotus team's title sponsor in the early 1980s.
