Bourdais to test for Toro Rosso

Sebastien Bourdais has been trying to break into Formula 1 for years. The 27-year-old Frenchman went to America in 2003 after being unable to find an F1 drive despite winning the International Formula 3000 title. He won the Champ Car title in 2004 and added two further championships in 2005 and 2006. There has been occasional talk of F1 tests but nothing has come of it until now.

Bourdais is due to take part in the team's three-day test at Jerez later this week. The Newman Haas Racing team is happy to allow the test but expects to see Bourdais back in action in America next year - chasing a fourth title.
