A small change to qualifying

The F1 Commission did achieve one small thing today in Paris, agreeing to reduce the final qualifying session in F1 from 20 minutes to 15 minutes. It is anticipated that at some point someone will issue a press release to this effect but thus far there has been no official confirmation of change, which was logical given that the first five minutes of the final session is a waste of time in which teams simply burn off fuel. The proposal must now go to the FIA World Council, which met yesterday, but presumably this will be taken care of with a fax vote. If all this can be done in the time available the change could be made in France.
