Changes at Spa

The Societe Wallonne de Gestion et de Participations (SOGEPA), a company owned by the regional government of the Belgian region of Wallonia, has announced a restructuring of the company that runs the Spa Francorchamps racing circuit. SOGEPA exists to invest in companies that will help develop the economy of the region and has now decided to take over the company and replace the current management with a new board of directors headed by socialist politicians Libert Froidmont (who is head of SOGEPA) and Jean-Louis Rolle. The next step is to sign a new contract for a Grand Prix and then work out who will promote the races at the Francorchamps.
