Jacques Villeneuve loses a place

BMW Sauber driver Jacques Villeneuve was docked his three fastest lap in the qualifying session by the FIA Stewards on Saturday evening after they decided that he had impeded the progress of Giancarlo Fisichella at a vital moment during the Q2 session. The stewards noted that the action may not have been deliberate but docked the times nonetheless which means that dropped Jacques to 10th on the grid, although this become ninth because Mark Webber has dropped back to 19th as the result of an engine change before qualifying. Thus Villeneuve ended up in the same place on the grid.
