F1 men looks for work as Servia signs for PKV

Oriol Servia has signed to race alongside Katherine Legge in the PKV Racing Champ Car team and with Jimmy Vasser apparently planning to do a few races in a third car, it could be that former F1 men Cristiano da Matta, Ryan Briscoe and Franck Montagny may end up without drives in the series. There is still time for other teams to make up their minds but for the money none seem to have a deal.

Servia impressed the Champ Car community last year when he jumped into Bruno Junqueira's seat at Newman Haas after the Brazilian hurt his back, finishing runner-up in the series to his team mate Sebastien Bourdais.

Newman Haas had been keen to keep Servia but could not find the money for a third car.

Da Matta is tipped to be talking about drives at home in the Brazilian V8 series while Briscoe has already signed to drive for the Holden Racing Team in the endurance races in the Australian V8 Supercar Series. The dates of the races do not clash with Champ Car so Briscoe could yet appear in America if a deal can be found.
