Daly sells his racing school
Former Formula 1 driver Derek Daly set up the Derek Daly Performance Driving Academy in 1996 in Las Vegas and has been running operations there while also working as commentator on racing events for various TV channels. The Irishman has now decided to sell the business which will be renamed the American Racing Academy. This will continue to use Formula 2000 open wheel race cars and BMW Z3 sportscars. The school has been bought by Robert Prevost, who was previously involved for 10 years in the running of the Skip Barber Racing School before moving on to set up a company which created an online sales agency for racing schools around the world.
Daly (52) is expected to continue with his TV activities with Speed Channel while also overseeing the career of his teenage son Conor, who is now competing in karting in the United States.
