MF1 to test Belgian Van Hooydonk

Midland F1 has added Belgian Jeffrey van Hooydonk to the list of drivers that will test with the team next month in Spain.

28 year old Van Hooydonk was fitted for the car today and will test in Jerez, Spain on Dec. 8th.

"I am very excited to be given this opportunity, especially as many Belgian fans are eagerly awaiting another Belgian driver in Formula One," he said.

"I will definitely give my best and then have to wait and see what the future will bring."

Italian Thomas Biagi and Germany's Markus Winkelhock are also scheduled the same week for 1 day tests. Although it is very unlikely the team will have a place for them this year as Christijan Albers has been signed up to race for the team and Tiago Monteiro is likely to receive the second spot. Dutch driver Nicky Pastorelli has also been confirmed as the official test driver for the newly branded team.
