AMD does a NASCAR deal

Advanced Micro Devices continues its drive into motor racing with a new deal to become the official technology partner of NASCAR. This will see the organisation using AMD computer technology on and off the track to improve timing and scoring, research and development, wind tunnel testing and crash simulation. The deal is believe to be for four years and is worth tens of millions of dollars per year.

As part of the deal AMD will create mobile timing-and-scoring facilities that will travel to rounds of the Nextel Cup, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck championship.
