Another idea for qualifying

The Formula 1 drivers have asked the FIA to consider a new system of qualifying next year with the running order in the final qualifying session being established using the fastest laps achieved in the final practice session on Saturday rather than being based on the result of the previous race. Qualifying would then be decided with low fuel runs but drivers would get the chance to try and improve his time with a second run. It is not clear how this would be achieved within an hour but it seems it can be fitted in. The idea is yet another one to be added to the melting pot, despite the fact that the F1 technical directors recently made it clear that they wanted an answer to the structure of qualifying a month ago.
