What is this?

In a recent press conference the organisers of the planned South African Grand Prix made one very interesting remark, noting that if a race is to go ahead it will have to convince the government to "allow them to advertise" tobacco.

The big question is why the Formula One group would be insisting on such antiquated clauses in a contract at a time when the World Health Organisation, the FIA and a lot of the F1 teams are looking forward an F1 without tobacco sponsorship.

The South Africans want a Grand Prix in 2007.
