Barrichello signs for BAR?

Rubens Barrichello is rumoured to have signed to a two-year deal with British American Racing and, if this is true, he will leave Ferrari after five years playing second fiddle to Michael Schumacher. The rumours are interesting in that BAR is saying that it wants Jenson Button and at the same time Japanese sources say that the team also wants to keep Takuma Sato.

Obviously three into two does not go and it would be a surprise for the team to hold on to Sato after a less than impressive season to date.

The rumours obviously raise the question of who would drive for Ferrari if Barrichello does depart and the general consensus appears to be that the job would go to Felipe Massa, who is managed by Nicolas Todt, son of Ferrari boss Jean Todt. Massa was a Ferrari test driver in 2003.

That would open up a job at BMW Sauber but there is no shortage of people to join that team.
