Jensen moves up

Eric Jensen is to run his own Champ car team this year. The 35-year-old Toronto driver has been a regular competitor in Toyota Atlantics in recent years, running his own team in the series. He has now decided to move up to Champ Car and will announce his plans this week. The team is expected to run one car and Michel Valiente is tipped as the most likely driver. The original plan was for the team to run just a handful of events in 2005, starting at the Toronto race in July but Jensen has found the money to do the whole season. The team has a Lola chassis and is planning to have its first tests shortly, in preparation for the start of the Champ Car season on April 10 in Long Beach.
