Enge goes to America

Former F1 driver Tomas Enge is to finish the season racing for Patrick Racing in the Indy Racing League. He will replace Jacques Lazier.

The 28-year-old Czech driver will compete in the upcoming event at the California Speedway and is no doubt hoping that his performance will draw attention to him as he looks for work for next year. Enge, the son of a well-known Czech touring car racer, was deprived of his Formula 3000 title in 2002 because he failed a drugs test at the Hungarian GP. Prior to that he had raced for Prost Grand Prix. Enge spent 2003 in sports cars but returned to open wheelers this year as a contender in the FIA International Formula 3000 series, in which he finished fourth.
