Villeneuve and Sauber

There has been lots of talk about a deal between Sauber and Jacques Villeneuve, but team boss Peter Sauber says that at the moment no decision has been made.

"There is no deal done," Sauber said at Monza. "It is still a possibility but there are other drivers under consideration as well."

Sauber said that it is "sure" that Felipe Massa will stay with the team for one more year but says that drivers who are under consideration to replace Giancarlo Fisichella include Villeneuve, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Anthony Davidson, Gary Paffett, Christjian Albers and Nick Heidfeld.

Rumours suggest that Villeneuve has agreed a two-year deal with the team for a small retainer with a bonus points scheme and space on the car which he will be able to sell to sponsors.
