Luca di Montezemolo to head Fiat

Luca di Montezemolo is to be the new chairman of the Fiat group. The former Ferrari boss will be the most powerful industrialist in Italy and will face a daunting task of getting the country's biggest commercial enterprise back on its feet. The big question is F1 circles is what will happen now at Ferrari but it is already fairly clear that Jean Todt will be moving up to replace Montezemolo in charge of the Ferrari-Maserati group and Ross Brawn will step into Todt's shoes as head of the Gestione Sportiva. It is not yet clear whether Brawn will continue to be technical director as well or whether someone else is going to be promoted to fill that role.

Montezemolo moves in at Fiat following the death of Umberto Agnelli.
