Richards confirms Honda deal

BAR-Honda boss David Richards says that a deal is in place with Honda for the years ahead.

"We will be with Honda for some years to come," he told the Formula 1 media in Spain, but he was not willing to give more details about the plans for the relationship. The current deal between the team and the Japanese engine manufacturer runs out at the end of the current season but negotiations have been going on for some time and it seems that the logical conclusion has been reached to continue building the current relationship with the aim of taking BAR to the top and returning Honda to a dominant place in F1. The company was unbeatable in F1 in the late 1980s and early 1990s but has struggled to beat Ferrari in the last few years.
