The fourth driver at Williams

The Williams team is testing Nico Rosberg this week in Barcelona and next week will give Nelson Piquet Jr another run in testing but the signs are that neither man is going to end up as the team's second test driver, working alongside Marc Gene. The position is an important as it is definite that Juan Pablo Montoya will be leaving the team and going off to McLaren in 2005 and there continue to be rumours that Ralf Schumacher is on his way to Toyota because he cannot agree financial terms with Williams.

The team will be looking for some kind of stability between the 2004 and 2005 seasons and so if both drivers do depart it is quite likely that one of the test drivers could end up in a car in 2005.

The team is looking around at available talent but at the moment it seems that the man most likely to get the job is Jaguar Racing reject Antonio Pizzonia, who did a great job as the Williams test driver in 2002 before his unfortunate time at Jaguar in 2003.
