Hayes to take bigger role at Cosworth

Nick Hayes, the technical director of Cosworth Racing, is to take on a bigger role at races following the departure of the head of engineering Rob White to Renault. Hayes has been at Cosworth for close to 20 years working on the design and engineering of the company's F1 engines and has enormous experience in the sport.

Cosworth is being rather cagey on the subject of who will replace White as it does not want rival engine companies to know who is doing what, in order to avoid further defections. White was a major loss, having worked on the F1 programme at Cosworth for six years.
