British GP to move to July 11

As we exclusively predicted some weeks ago it look like the British Grand Prix will be confirmed for the weekend of July 11, taking the date which had been set aside for the French Grand Prix.

Silverstone has announced that it has revised its pricing for the event, bringing down ticket prices dramatically if fans book early for the race. Fans buying their tickets before March 1 will be able to get a three-day ticket for $150 less than it cost last year.

"We made it clear at this year's British Grand Prix that we would review pricing for 2004 and we've honoured this commitment," said managing director Andrew Waller. "We believe the new pricing offers better value for money to everyone."

The date change will be confirmed when the FIA World Motor Sport Council meets in Monaco on Friday - and there is little hope that the French GP can now be saved.
