Tire companies have differing views

Getting Michelin and Bridgestone to agree is not always easy and at the moment there appears to be a difference of opinion over a supposed agreement between the two companies to restrict the different compounds used during a race weekend. Michelin is running whatever tires it likes in the Friday morning testing session but Bridgestone seems to think that the firm should be using only tires which will be used for the whole weekend.

"Those who test on Friday morning are absolutely free," says Michelin's competition boss Pierre Dupasquier. "They can test anything."
