Formula 1 fears SARS outbreak

The news that Sao Paulo health authorities have found the first suspected case of the deadly SARS virus has sent panic through the Formula 1 world. The person in hospital in Sao Paulo is reported to be a 42-year female British Formula 1 journalist who arrived in Brazil on Monday. She was previously in Malaysia for the Grand Prix at Sepang.

At the moment the identity of the victim has not been announced but there are very few people who fit that particular profile.

Around 80 people have died of the virus, mainly in Asia.
