Schumacher's new lap record at Fiorano

Part of Ferrari folklore is that the lap record at Fiorano is broken every time the team produces a new Formula 1 car.

However Michael Schumacher's testing of the yet-to-be-raced F2003 GA seems to indicate that the new car is considerably faster than the current F2002. The main issue at the moment is reliability and the new car has had a number of incidents, notably with suspension breakages. The testing work is however bearing fruit and Schumacher last week completed a total of 90 laps of the track, setting a new lap record during his test.
