The Jordan drive

The latest speculation is that with the withdrawal of Eddie Irvine from the scene, the second Jordan drive is likely to go to Brazil's Felipe Massa but the team says that other drivers are under discussion, including Ralph Firman. The identity of the team's second driver will, however, be dependent on which driver can bring the most money.

There continues to be a lot of speculation in Formula 1 circles, some of it well-founded, that Eddie Jordan is still discussing the sale of the team to the Austrian energy drink company Red Bull. This has been denied several times by the team but it seems that no-one believes the denials. Our sources continue to say that Red Bull is only interested in a deal which will see Eddie Jordan no longer involved in the team in any way. Jordan has constantly said that he is motivated to stay on with the team and has no intention of moving aside.
