Tyre mystery at Minardi

There is a mystery as to which tyres the Minardi team will be using in 2003 following remarks by Michelin's Pierre Dupasquier that Michelin will be supplying tyres to the team. Minardi had a deal last year which meant that the team had to buy tyres from the French company.

"We are actively seeking to conclude a deal with Bridgestone," says Minardi team boss Paul Stoddart. "However as no deal has yet been concluded we cannot say for certain. However either tyre company could supply as they are compelled by the Concorde Agreement and the F1 Sporting Regulations to supply tyres to six teams if requested to do so."
