Coulthard fastest again in Spain
David Coulthard was fastest in testing at the Circuit de Catalunya for the third day in a row Thursday. The McLaren driver worked alongside teammate Kimi Raikkonen, who was second fastest on the day, both testing tires for Michelin.
Juan Pablo Montoya and Marc Gene were behind the wheel for Williams, while Olivier Panis and Cristiano Da Matta tested for Toyota. Panis put the new TF103 through its paces for the second day in a row, while Da Matta continued development work in a TF102.
Anthony Davidson put down his first laps in the new BAR 005 Thursday, just a day after Jenson Button debuted the car at the Spanish circuit.
Antonio Pizzonia took over from teammate Mark Webber Thursday, testing for Jaguar. The team plans on running the new R4 for the first time at Ford's Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium later in the week.
Renault also continued its testing program Thursday. Jarno Trulli was able to continue his duties after sitting out Wednesday because he was not feeling well. Trulli conducted suspension development in a R202 chassis, while Fernando Alonso worked on a tire program in a hybrid car.
Testing will continue at the circuit Friday.
