Badoer ahead of the game in Barcelona

Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer continued to set the pace in the testing at Barcelona on Thursday with a best lap of 1m17.141s. This was over 1.5 secs faster than Mark Webber's Jaguar, the Australian finally getting some mileage after two days of engine problems with the new Cosworth V10. Webber was using an older engine. The third fastest time of the day went to Olivier Panis in the Toyota, which was half a second slower than the Jaguar but still well clear of Anthony Davidson's BAR-Honda. Cristiano da Matta continued his acclimatisation at Toyota but was still a long way from Panis's pace despite completing 79 laps while Antonio Pizzonia did only 11 laps and was not able to set a representative time.
