Formula Nissan tests new 450 horsepower engine

Formula Nissan continues to grow and the Nissan 3-litre engine which will be used in the cars next year was given its first run on Monday at Valencia with Bas Leinders doing the development work. The engine produces 450 horsepower, which will make the series the second most powerful open-wheeler cars racing in Europe after Formula 1.

The test also saw some well known names from the Formula 3 and Formula 3000 worlds trying their hand at the Formula Nissan cars, notably Frenchman Bruce Jouanny, Ricardo Sperafico, Patrick Friesacher, Kristian Kolby and Phil Giebler.
