Eddie Jordan goes rallying

Eddie Jordan turned up on the San Remo Rally last weekend and raised a few eyebrows (as usual) by remarking about the dangers of Peugeot's domination of the sport.

"I think rallying has to be careful," Jordan said. "I'm not saying that as something against Peugeot - they have done a very good job - but the sport doesn't want to go down the same route as F1."

Jordan's trip to San Remo is probably related to his attempts to get more support from Ford Europe for his F1 program next year. Jordan's chief rival for the Ford money is the Ford World Rally Championship program.

Jordan's remarks will not please David Richards, the man who is trying to build up the World Rally Championship, as well as British American Racing. Richards recently landed the factory Honda engine supply in F1, leaving Jordan struggling to find an engine deal.
