Jordan mourns loss of physiotherapist

The Jordan team will wear black armbands on their shirts this weekend in memory of Martin Whittingham, the team's physiotherapist who was killed in a road accident last weekend. The 40-year-old was trained with the Royal Army Medical Corps and then turned to sports medicine with the British bobsleigh team and then worked with the team at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer in 1994 before beginning a career as a trainer and physiotherapist with individual athletes.

In recent times Whittingham had looked after the physiotherapy and medical programmes of Giancarlo Fisichella and Takuma Sato, during testing sessions and race weekends.
