Lauda Jr. takes to the tracks

MATTHIAS LAUDA, son of triple World Champion Niki Lauda, is to make his racing debut in Spain this weekend in the Formula Nissan championship. Lauda is the latest in a long series of sons of famous fathers who are currently racing with the sons of Niki's contemporaries Jody Scheckter, Nelson Piquet, Gilles Villeneuve, Alan Jones and Keke Rosberg having all tried their hand at racing. To date Jacques Villeneuve has been the most successful, winning the 1997 World Championship.

There has been a long history of fathers and sons in motor racing the most famous of which are the Ascaris, the Andretti and Unser dynasties and any number of families in NASCAR.
