The restructured BAR

FULL details are now coming to light about the new structure of British American Racing. The team comes under the direct control of new managing-director Nick Fry, who is also in charge of running the Prodrive company, has a number of different department heads reporting to him including technical director Geoff Willis, head of operations Graham Miller, team manager Ron Meadows and the head of marketing Hugh Chambers. The team also has a new sporting manager Guido Piedade.

There are six technical departments under Willis. Willis himself looks after aerodynamics with Steve Farrell in charge of mechanical design. Jorg Zander heads the transmission division, James Robinson is in charge of race operations and Jason Rees is the boss of the electronics group.

The team has decided to make research and development the responsibility of each individual division - an unusual approach in F1.
