Gugelmin steps down

MAURICIO GUGELMIN disappeared from Formula 1 10 years ago and went off to the United States to race CART. The 39-year-old Brazilian, who raced in F1 between 1988 and 1992 with March, Leyton House and Jordan has been with the PacWest team in the United States ever since but has finally decided to stand down and let a younger man take over. Gugelmin's drive with PWR (the team's new name) has gone to Spaniard Oriol Servia, who will partner rising Kiwi star Scott Dixon.

Gugelmin is to stay with the team working in an advisory and marketing role.
