Dry testing conditions for day four in Barcelona
CONDITIONS improved for the first time Thursday for teams testing in Barcelona. The track finally dried, allowing Eddie Irvine to set the quickest time of the week in a Jaguar R2C, while teammate Pedro de la Rosa was almost four seconds off that pace in the new R3.
Kimi Raikkonen was second fastest on the day for McLaren. The Fin was just one tenth of Irvine's fast time.
2002 cars on the track Thursday once again included the new BAR driven by Olivier Panis, de la Rossa's R3, and Toyota's new contender with Mika Salo behind the wheel.
Unfortunately, the test ended prematurely when the safety helicopter was called away from the track to attend to an emergency.
