Renault aiming for US market with Nissan
RENAULT-CONTROLLED Nissan says that it is planning to expand its operations in the United States in the next couple of years with six new Nissan models and four new Infiniti cars. The expansion program is to be supported by the Infiniti Indy Racing League program, with engines being prepared by Tom Walkinshaw Racing in England. That program is currently being overseen by former Renault Sport technical director Bernard Dudot.
Also planning to expand in the United States is Subaru, an affiliate of General Motors. The company has been highly successful in the World Rally Championship and hopes to use that program to aid the US expansion when the WRC lands a round in the United States.
