Renault Sport goes for Dutch technology

RENAULT SPORT has turned to Holland for some of its latest high-technology software. The French company is to use database technology supplied by the X-Hive Corporation of Rotterdam for the storage of technical information from the cars.

"The complexity of the queries we need to perform requires some very intense calculations", says Renault Sport IT Director, Christophe Verdier. "By storing this data in X-Hive/DB, we are able to perform "what if" analyses very efficiently and then draw up different scenarios, as required."

The deals with Renault and its sister company Benetton are the first in France and in the UK for X-Hive.
