Trulli waiting for Renault Sport

JARNO TRULLI has a deal to stay with Jordan Grand Prix next year but he has to wait to see whether Renault Sport wants to take up an option it has on his services for next year. Eddie Jordan moved very quickly after Hockenheim to secure a deal with Trulli as the firing of Heinz-Harald Frentzen left the team in a situation in which it could have ended up with two new drivers - which would have been a setback.

But Jordan cannot guarantee that Trulli will stay as that depends on Renault bosses. Renault has Jenson Button under contract but Giancarlo Fisichella' contract ends this season and it is not yet clear what the Roman driver is going to do. He does not have many choices although Jordan would probably take him back if Renault decides to sign Trulli.

A decision from Renault is expected within the next few days.
