British Grand Prix could be a casualty of foot-and-mouth

THE British Grand Prix has become the latest big sporting event to be under threat from the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Britain.

The Motor Sports Association in Britain have already suspended all motor racing events that take place on public highways and that are held on or near agricultural land.

The British Grand Prix, due to be held on July 15 at the Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, is close to agricultural land and draws spectators from all across the world.

The race attracts the biggest crowds in the British sporting calendar and if the current outbreak continues organizers could be forced to postpone the event.
