Record crowd expected in Melbourne

AUSTRALIAN Grand Prix race organizers have said they expect a record crowd for Sunday's race.

A record 110,000 crowd watched Saturday's qualifying session at Albert Park and the figure for the race is expected to top the 124,000 who watched the race last year.

"With the Ferraris on the front row and the weather looking so good, we're now looking forward to a great final day," said Grand Prix chief executive John Harnden.

The current total of spectators for the event stands at 241,000 and the race figure will make the total over the entire weekend a record for the Melbourne race.
