Formula One to rock at Royal Albert Hall

FORMULA ONE analyst Tony Jardine has been confirmed as the host of The Grand Prix party next month, and will be joined by British television presenter Carol Vorderman.

The event will take place at London's Royal Albert Hall on February 12, and will bring the Formula One paddock and fans together in a bid a to raise funds for FIA medical delegate Sid Watkins' Brain and Spine Foundation.

"I think the idea of having a Grand Prix Party is brilliant," Watkins said. "With backing from Bernie Ecclestone and Formula One drivers it will be a wonderful event. The money raised will help our patients and families."

FIA vice-president Ecclestone added: "Grand Prix Racing has reached new heights in the last decade and after the excitement of the 2000 season, Formula One followers are already looking forward to another year of excitement. The Grand Prix Party will be a curtain raiser to the new season."

Pianist Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will provide the entertainment while Jordan Grand Prix boss Eddie Jordan will be on stage for the evening's finale with his All Star Band featuring some special guests.
