Raikkonen not thinking about superlicence decision

YOUNG Finn Kimi Raikkonen has said he will not let the Federation Internationale l'Automobile's decision over his superlicence application affect his test with Sauber at Jerez.

The 21-year-old will learn on Thursday if he will be given the go-ahead to drive in Formula One next year but Raikkonen, who has competed in just 23 single-seater races, vowed to continue testing on without the pressure of the outcome of the FIA World Council Meeting.

"This is just a normal test for me," said Raikkonen. "I am not thinking about the Formula One superlicence at all.

"I obviously don't have a clue about how it will go. I haven't had any feedback about it and I will find out whether I will get it on Thursday.

"At the moment I am trying not to think about it and I am just enjoying the test. This is my first time at this circuit and it is good to get a feel for the car."

Raikkonen, who competed in Formula Renault this year, admitted he has no idea where his future will lie if he is denied a superlicence.

"At the moment I am trying not to think about it," he said. "If the FIA do not allow me a licence I really do not know what I will do. I will have to talk to my agent."
