Herbert suffers leg injury in final race

JOHNNY HERBERT's final Formula One Grand Prix ended in disaster when he had to be taken for precautionary x-rays at a medical center in Sepang, following an accident eight laps from the end.

The Briton suffered bad bruising to his left leg after his car suffered rear suspension failure, sending him through the gravel trap and smashing into the tire wall.

Initially, Herbert seemed fine as he crawled out of the wreckage, but he later needed assistance from marshals to get away from the scene of the crash.

It was a terrible end to his final race, when at one stage everything was looking good, after he took his Jaguar to fourth position.
