Brunner turns down Jordan

AUSTRIAN Gustav Brunner has rejected a substantial offer to switch from Minardi and join the Jordan team next season, a spokesman for the Italian outfit confirmed.

Minardi's spokeswoman said: "It is true, Gustav has had a lot of offers including one from Jordan. He is always in demand at this time of the year."

But the Silverstone-based Jordan team's spokesman has denied the approach and said there was 'no truth' in the reports linking the Silverstone-based team with Brunner.

Brunner himself said: "I am happy here, but when you have done a good job, like we have this year, there are always offers for the following year.

Gascoyne left Jordan after accepting an offer to join the Renault-owned Benetton team and design the car with which Renault will make their return to the sport in 2002.
