New money for Ferrari

WE hear that Ferrari is to end its associations with the clothing company Cerruti and with the Japanese electronics firm Pioneer. Neither is believed to be very keen on paying the price being demanded by Ferrari. Cerruti is expected to be replaced by US clothing company Tommy Hilfiger, which is run by racing fanatic Lawrence Stroll, who was involved in the latter days of Team Lotus and races in the North American Ferrari Challenge series. Tommy Hilfiger clothing is booming in North America and Stroll is looking to expand more around the world.

Pioneer has been with Ferrari since the start of 1991 but is likely to be replaced by another electronics company, there being no shortage of companies willing to pay a great deal of money to be associated with Michael Schumacher.
