Michael Bleekemolen

Bleekemolen was a graduate of Formula Super Vee who decided to try his hand at Formula 1 in 1977 with the RAM team. He failed to qualify for his home race but returned to Formula 1 the following year with Gunther Schmidt's ATS team for which he drove in four races. Thereafter he returned to Formula 3 for another three years and won two rounds of the European Formula 3 Championship, finishing second to Alain Prost in the 1979 series. Thereafter he moved into one-make racing and enjoyed considerable success in Renault machinery before taking a back seat to keep an eye on the progress of his sons Jeroen and Sebastian.
