Paul Belmondo

Winner of the 1982 Pilote Elf competition, this son of the famous French actor graduated through Formula 3 to Formula 3000 by the 1987 season and remained in the Grand Prix "feeder formula" through to 1991 after which he was promoted to the March Formula 1 team for the first part of the 1992 season, finishing ninth in the Hungarian Grand Prix. Two years later he became a member of the ill-starred and uncompetitive Pacific Grand Prix team, failing to qualify in all but two of the season's races. Thereafter he concentrated on GT racing, notably at the wheel of a Chrysler Viper. Eventually he decided to start his own team in GT racing.
