Stebro

Stebro Systems Ltd. was established in Canada in 1956 to supply replacement parts for high-performance and imported cars. In the early 1960s, as a means of promoting themselves, the company paid for the construction of Formula Junior chassis for the Canadian market. In 1963 the company managed to convince the organizers at Watkins Glen to allow it to run a couple of Ford-engined Stebro 4 chassis in the United States Grand Prix. In fact only one appeared. It was driven by Peter Broeker and it was 15secs off the pace of poleman Graham Hill in practice. In the race Broeker managed to keep the car running but he had covered only 88 of the 110 laps when the race finished. He was classified seventh.
